Paper Honeycomb
Paper honeycomb takes its name from beehives since the structure is similar.
Paper Honeycomb is an excellent replacement for wood & thermocol and is used as infills for doors, packaging, pallets, boxes & other various applications.
Paper honeycomb takes its name from beehives since the structure is similar. Paper sheets you can crush in the palm of your hand undergo transformation in the automated machinery, turning into a rigid, lightweight, strong structure with torsional rigidity, high impact, compressive and burst strength.
Paper sheets are shaped into hexagonal cells and glued to form the honeycomb structure. The basic core is made using paper in the range of 130 to 200 gsm with cell sizes ranging from 6 to 14mm and the entire core may vary in width from 60 to 1800 mm in thicknesses of 10 to 75 mm.
Paper honeycombs may be used as infill for doors and for packaging. The honeycomb may be turned into packaging board by laminating with thick kraft paper on both sides.
Such laminated honeycomb cores may be used for pallets or to make outer cartons for heavy items that require packaging to have high torsional rigidity and burst strength.
VM Technocoatings offers plain paper honeycombs in the sizes described above, laminated honeycombs boards, honeycomb pallets and boxes for packaging purposes.
